Teaching Your Parents High-Tech

You may be an early adopter, but what about your parents? If they don’t know jack about the smartphone market or they still think Apple’s a fruit you’re going to have to help them. Here’s how without losing your sanity
Check out their options: Many elderly folks live outside of cities so see what kinds of connections your parents have available. They may need to go to www.satellitestarinternet.com to check out satellite internet or you might want to look into other mobile options for them.
Spend some time training them: If your parents have just gotten their first smartphone or laptop they’re going to be pretty lost – it’s your job to sit down and make the whole process easier. Teach them how to work the thing and do it patientlyremember what it was like when you got your first iPhone?
Get them insurance: It’s important to ensure you’re not out a grand everytime your dad drops his Droid, so get all their stuff insured. Likewise, don’t get your folks the highest tech gadgets you can findthey’ll do just fine with last year’s genearation.
